Hi 🙋‍♀️ My name is Chloe Bertolami and I am the owner of Breathe Pilates Studio.

Would you believe that I used t suffer horrendous back pain?? Rewind almost 10 years and I was a fit, health, active 20 year old so not your stereotype of someone who would typically experience back pain…but I did. Some days it would get to 4pm and I would HAVE to lay down I was in that much pain.

I didn’t understand why – I worked out 5-6 days a week, ate a healthy diet, got enough sleep, looked after my body but I suffered debilitating back pain. I would be cooking dinner some evenings and have to take breaks because the pressure of standing up was too much. Something had to change.

The martial arts gym where I trained introduced a weekly Pilates class and I must admit that my first thought was “pffft this won’t be enough of a workout for me but I’ll give it a go anyway”. I clearly did not know anything about Pilates because by the end of the warm up I was shaking! For the first time I paid attention to how my body moved and how each movement felt.

After a few weeks of doing just 1x class per week I noticed one big change – NO MORE BACK PAIN!! I couldn’t believe it. I also noticed that my body moved better in my other training and I regained my flexibility from my dancing days -  I was absolutely hooked.

I found our where the instructor taught her other classes and soon was attending 3x classes a week. I then made the bold decision to do my instructor training and open my own studio I loved it that much!! Fast forward a few years and I have 2 studios and no more back pain. Pilates quite literally changed my life.
